Following is an article on the "Arms & Armor of Africa" that I wrote for Dragon magazine more than two decades ago and which appeared in its issue #189 in 1993! At that point it became the official set of stats for African weapons in the 2nd Edition of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. I have had a revived interest in it for a number of reasons, which include a recent research trip to East Africa and the game-related articles and other materials I have been developing based on it.
